So what's a M.S.A. Ride In? 2009 INFO COMING SOON
Michigan Snowmobile Assoc. (MSA) has a snowmobile Ride In at the Kawadin Casino Sault Ste. Marie
Check in is on Friday and there you pick up your meal tickets .. Meal tickets can not be bought at the door. They must be purchased from the M.S.A. office at 1-800-246-0260. They cost $60.00 and include Friday night hors d'oeurvres . Sat breakfast buffet , Sat dinner buffet/entertainment and Sun breakfast buffet, and door prizes
Friday from 7-10pm is the get- acquainted party, with a cash bar. On Fri. night participants sign up for guided rides through out the Eastern U.P. There are about 10 -15 different guided rides and you pick one that best matches your riding style. There will be 15 - 20 people in each guided ride. Each "Guide" will introduce themselves on Friday night and describe their guided ride. The evening will conclude with time to catch up with old friends , make new ones and meet with other MSA members dedicated to the sport.
On Sat morning, breakfast will be served from 7-9 am and the guided rides begin around 9:15am..Out in the parking lot will be your "Guide", on their sleds with a pre-determined colored ribbon you picked up Friday nite. Once the group assembles, the ride will start. Be responsible for the rider in front and back of you during the ride, use hand signals, fill your tank and check the condition of your sled before the ride. As always ZeroTolerance Ride is the rule. Lunch will be on your own, as the "Guide" usually picks a good place to eat!
After a fun days ride, return to the Casino for a Dinner Buffet starting at 6pm. After dinner there is always some type of entertainment, camaraderie with fellow MSA members, door prizes, raffle and a cash bar. After a good ride, food and prizes, it's time for a good nites sleep. Call the MSA office 1-800-246-0260 to get a control number for room discounts.
Sunday morning breakfast buffet will be from 8-10 am. Tradition dictates that someone from each riding group share their fun of Saturday's rides. Who fell off, who stayed on, who got stuck, who broke down, and a recap of the ride.
Then stick around for more riding on your own, or join the Canada ride set for the week. The Sault is a true snowmobiling heaven, with an average of over 115 inches of snow and 100's of miles of connecting trails.
Have a safe ride home and return next year for more fun.
